Thomas Day: she’s got a thing about tour Review - Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia

I didn’t know much about Thomas Day before seeing him live, but after his show at Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia on October 11th, I can confidently say he’s an artist to watch. I first saw him on Season 15 of America’s Got Talent, but I hadn’t followed his music closely after. When my friend asked me to see him on his she’s got a thing about tour, I couldn’t say no, especially since tickets weren’t expensive (and I love a good concert). Walking in, I wasn’t familiar with most of his songs, but that honestly didn’t matter. His energy and vibe were absolutely contagious.

The Opener: NERIAH

The night started with opener NERIAH. I personally hadn’t heard of her before, but she immediately reminded me of a pop princess. Her song “Out of Your League” reminded me of Sabrina Carpenter due to her witty lyrics and performance. NERIAH’s live vocals had room for improvement, and there were one or two moments where she seemed a little disengaged, but I could tell she was still working hard. And honestly, she could’ve been having an off night. Being an opener is not easy, especially when you rely on crowd energy to bring a performance to life.

There was a huge fan of NERIAH’s in the crowd who was standing right in front of me. NERIAH spotted her almost immediately, and the two of them shared many moments, which were very special to witness. You could tell those moments meant a lot to the fan and NERIAH herself.

The Headliner: Thomas Day

Once Thomas Day hit the stage, the room transformed. He opened with “sore throat” and never let the energy drop for the rest of the night. He covered the entire stage, interacted with the audience, and had a way of letting the crowd sing to him, almost as if he was taking it all in and feeding off the moment. Even though I didn’t know the words to most of his songs, I didn’t need to because his passion and stage presence were more than enough to pull me in.

He played a mix of older tracks and his newest 13-minute EP, kids, released just two days before the show. Songs like “pollen” and “kids” blended seamlessly with the rest of his set, and his live vocals were incredible. He’s clearly an artist who’s genuinely interested in his music and his fans, and it shows. Watching him perform made me want to dive into his catalog and follow what he does next.

The setlist was extensive and well-paced, moving through high-energy tracks like “VICIOUS” and “Sleep When We're Dead” to more introspective songs like “Underwear” and “Not My Job Anymore.” He kept the audience engaged throughout, balancing moments of pure performance with ones that felt intimate and personal.

Thomas Day’s setlist for Philadelphia, PA was as follows:

  1. sore throat

  2. pollen

  3. MASOCHIST

  4. You Don’t Belong to Me

  5. Invisible

  6. Sentimental

  7. Underwear

  8. VICIOUS

  9. tethered

  10. We Will Never Be the Same

  11. kids

  12. Not My Job Anymore

  13. GUN

  14. Beg

  15. Sleep When We’re Dead

  16. Pretender

  17. I Lost Myself 4 You

  18. she got a thing about her

By the end of the night, I had become a fan. Thomas Day’s live show proves that you don’t need to know every word to his songs to feel connected to the music. His combination of incredible vocals, stage presence, and infectious energy makes him someone you’ll want to see live. And trust me, Thomas Day is someone to watch in the future.
