The Favors, a new band formed by longtime collaborators and friends FINNEAS and Ashe, have officially announced their highly anticipated debut album, The Dream, set for release on September 19, 2025. The group introduced themselves and The Dream to the world via Instagram (@wearethefavors) on June 2nd, 2025, and have since released two singles with accompanying music videos, quickly climbing to over 2.2 million monthly Spotify listeners.
Both FINNEAS and Ashe establish The Favors with a strong foundation. FINNEAS is not only a multi-Grammy-winning producer and Billie Eilish’s co-writer, producer, and brother, but a solo artist in his own right. With projects like Optimist and For Cryin’ Out Loud, and standout tracks like “Break My Heart Again” and “Let’s Fall in Love for the Night,” FINNEAS showcases his signature blend of restraint and emotional depth. Ashe, equally acclaimed for her songwriting and visual artistry, found viral success with “Moral of the Story” and built on that momentum with the albums Ashlyn and Rae, both celebrated for their blend of vintage flair and honest lyricism.
Though best known for their solo work, FINNEAS and Ashe have a creative history that spans back to Ashe’s 2019 hit, “Moral of the Story,” which was co-written and co-produced by FINNEAS. They also collaborated on the 2021 single “Till Forever Falls Apart,” which FINNEAS co-wrote, co-produced, and performed alongside Ashe (the track was later included on Ashe’s debut album, Ashlyn). Now, they’re turning that chemistry into a full-fledged band by blending cinematic production, vulnerable storytelling, and exhibiting a distinct West Coast dream-pop aesthetic. The band’s ‘About’ section on Spotify notes, “A few songs bring New York City into vivid focus while, at its heart, the album remains rooted in Los Angeles, where it was largely written and recorded.” That sense of place—whether east or west—is grounded by their shared sonic language. Their seamless vocal harmonies have already become a defining feature of the project, layering intimacy and warmth into each track.
The Favors made their musical debut with the single “The Little Mess You Made” on June 6th, 2025, accompanied by a moody music video that introduced the project’s layered emotional tone. The song has already resonated strongly with fans, becoming a standout favorite. Their second release, “The Hudson,” followed on July 11th, 2025, delivering a somber and reflective track that deepens the band’s emotional soundscape even further. Both songs will appear on The Dream.
The full tracklist, revealed on July 11th, is as follows:
Restless Little Heart
The Dream
Moonshine
The Little Mess You Made
The Hudson
Ordinary People
Necessary Evils
Times Square Jesus
David’s Brother
Lake George
Someday I’ll Be Back in Hollywood (feat. marinelli)
Home Sweet Home
Track 11 features a guest appearance from artist marinelli. It is the only track to explicitly feature The Favors' drummer, David Marinelli (marinelli), as a primary artist.
In support of The Dream, The Favors have announced a trio of album release shows: “An Evening with The Favors,” where FINNEAS and Ashe will perform live, joined by guitarist Ricky “Rat” Gourmet and percussionist David Marinelli. Both musicians are integral parts of the band’s sound and identity, rounding out the group’s live arrangements and recorded textures. These special performances will kick off the night before the album drops:
September 18th, 2025 – Fairbanks Lawn at Hollywood Forever – Los Angeles, CA
September 26th, 2025 – Red Rocks Amphitheatre – Morrison, CO
October 1st, 2025 – SummerStage in Central Park – New York, NY
With a smart rollout strategy, high-quality visuals, and two hit singles already in rotation, The Favors are emerging as one of the most talked-about new acts of 2025. The Dream promises itself to be “a no-rules project that revives the warmth and groove of 70s pop with razor-sharp songwriting, lush harmonies, with a distinctly modern edge,” as stated in their Spotify ‘About’ section.
After years of creative overlap, FINNEAS and Ashe have reintroduced themselves—not as solo artists in collaboration, but as one unified voice and name: The Favors.
