A new pop star is rising, and in a year from now, there’s a strong chance she’ll be a household name. 22-year-old Slovak singer Adéla Jergová first came into the spotlight in 2023 after moving to Los Angeles to compete in the reality competition series Dream Academy. Dream Academy, which is an international collaboration between South Korean entertainment company Hybe and Universal Music Group subsidiary Geffen Records, set out to form the global girl group, now known as KATSEYE, which is currently skyrocketing in popularity.

Dream Academy began with 20 international female candidates who competed in “missions” to test their potential as group members. Although Adéla was among the first to be eliminated from the show, she refused to retreat into the shadows. Instead, she pivoted towards a solo career, and the next year, she released her first single, “Homewrecked.” The track was soon followed by the energy-charged “Superscar,” signaling Adéla’s arrival as a powerful new pop force. By May 2025, Adéla achieved a major milestone: signing with Capitol and Polydor Records.

Growing up, Adéla was a classically trained ballerina, embarking on her dance journey at the age of three and continuing for thirteen years. Now, she choreographs her own hypnotic dance routines both for her music videos and live performances. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Adéla has cited successful stars Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Britney Spears, and Janet Jackson as major inspirations. She even claims to have learned to speak English while growing up in Slovakia by watching these stars’ interviews, alongside watching videos of American YouTubers, which she stated in an interview with The Middle Row.

In August 2025, Adéla released her debut EP, The Provocateur, after already drawing attention from industry successes such as Christina Aguilera, Grimes, and Demi Lovato. Aguilera and Grimes made cameos in two of Adéla’s music videos, while Lovato invited Adéla to join her on the “It’s Not That Deep Tour,” embarking in April 2026. Since the announcement, Lovato has publicly shared her support for Adéla, predicting her rise to fame in interviews, sharing content with the singer, and appearing at one of Adéla’s solo shows. Adding to her growing résumé, Adéla’s track “FinallyApologizing” also appeared in Rachel Sennott’s new comedy series, “I Love LA.”

In October 2025, Adéla wrapped her first headlining tour, “The Provocatour,” which made stops at intimate venues in London, New York, and Los Angeles. Clips from the tour quickly gained popularity on TikTok, highlighting Adéla’s complex and energetic dance routines and infectious energy. “[This is] my first and last time playing rooms this small,” Adéla shared on social media. “I don’t want to sound arrogant, but I know it to be true.”

As 2025 comes to an end, one can truly see Adéla's evolution as an artist throughout the year. She has truly made her passion for her artistry visible, catching the eye of audiences and industry forces. This year was only the beginning for Adéla. With a tour beginning and music on the way, 2026 will undoubtedly be Adéla’s year.
